The lovely Lucinda treated us to a boat trip down the river with Moises' Aunty Neca, Cousin Filipe, the family from Bahia, a couple from Sydney and other family of Lucinda. We had great weather and got to see the incredible houses of the rich who live on the river bank, along with some historical buildings.

This property had a history with slaves. They use to be tied to this pole and beaten.How horrible.

Because the slaves were not allowed to practice their own religion, they created their own shrine, hidden behind a rock, underneath the Catholic shrine. Can you see the two little figures? Only recently discovered.
