Aline's Graduation
Aline (moises sister) graduated from her teaching course at university last Saturday. Apart from the ceremony taking 4 hours because of the electricity going out in the city, it was a great night. Aline won an award for 'best student' and was also chosen by her piers to make a speach in the ceromony. I didn't understand a thing but she spoke very well. University here is diffrent from Australia in that you stay with the same people throughout the entire of the course instead of changing, through doing different subjects. So it seemed that all the students were really close and supported each other. It's a big deal to graduate here because not everyone gets the opportunity. I've heard that if you go to prison and you have a university degree you get treated better and are put in a less crowded cell. crazy! Better finish that degree just in case haha. Some family friends made crazy hats and ties for the party, there was a samba band, and loads of food and drinks.
